The Daily Show’s Obama Convention Video

If you haven’t seen the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, you’re really missing something special. Here, they spoof the John McCain smear ads ‘The One’ and ‘The One: The Road to Denver’ (which was a great Hope and Crosby movie) but it also brilliantly spoofs all those convention videos where they introduce you to the candidate.

  1. Hey, what is it with Sarah Palin being investigated? Was she fully vetted? I admit I know nothing about her. So what is this?

  2. I’m researching this as well. I’m in an email circle and we’re starting to share information.

No one knows anything about her. She’s a huge social conservative. I’ve already heard more about her son’s 9/11 deployment than Beau Biden’s deployment.

I think they panicked last night and changed the selection. I don’t believe they fully vetted her – after all, she is from Alaska. How much corruption can there be in Alaska.

  3. Yeah, you think Ted and his cohorts would have cornered the market on Alaska corruption.

Thanks for the comment you left on my blog about this. You had me in hysterics.

I’m emailing people, calling them. People are clueless about her. This whole investigation thing doesn’t seem to have caught fire yet. As I said, it’s not the biggest scandal in the world, but she’s being investigated for God’s sake. And McCain chooses her? I’m beginning to believe what you wrote to me about his vetting process.

Did you read the post by Mudflats in Alaska? I put a link to it on my blog. That person, who lives there, is dumbfounded by all this.

If you get more pertinent info, let me know.

  4. I did read that post by Mudflats and I passed it along to my email circle. I really appreciate you posting that. I’m probably going to go back and read it again because this decision is stunning.

The selection is very funny yet when you take the time to think about it, it doesn’t make any sense. Unless you think of all the groups this selection panders to.
And I’m in a completely different stratosphere than her on the issues: she’s pro gun, pro death penalty, anti abortion, anti gays, anti alternative energy, anti environment. So those far right religious freaks are happy.

I will definitely let you know if I find out anything – and you please do the same.
