It’s very GOP. It’s so much like Fox News. It sounds like something from Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh. Did Karl Rove pen this?
I was giving the John McCain website a look-see and couldn’t believe how low this campaign is going. The Obama Fan Club ad highlights the home page.
Then I stumbled on a slimy campaign trick. McCain’s Action Center has asked for help from their sheep readers. This is from McCain’s site:
Spread The Word
Help spread the word about John McCain on news and blog sites. Your efforts to help get the message out about John McCain’s policies and plan for the future is one of the most valuable things you can do for this campaign. You know why John McCain should be the next President of the United States and we need you to tell others why.
Select from the numerous web, blog and news sites listed here, go there, and make your opinions supporting John McCain known. Once you’ve commented on a post, video or news story, report the details of your comment by clicking the button below. After your comments are verified, you will be awarded points through the McCain Online Action Center.
You can receive valuable points towards something. But first they must verify what you did. I wonder how much time that would take? Sounds like wasted campaign dollars.
They have listed a variety of websites where they recommend that McCain’s supporters basically spam their comments. The liberal sites that they recommend for spamming are: Daily Kos, Crooks and Liars, Colorado Pols, MyDD and Think Progress.
Afterwards, you are to report to the McCain campaign about your childish antics. And for your efforts, the McCain campaign will give you a present. Hey, maybe it’s an Obama tire gauge!
First, the GOP brings you BarackBook.com, a childish mock of Facebook smearing Obama and now this.
I am fascinated by the warning to these McCain-sheep:
The web, blog and news sites listed here are a sample of political sites that you may post comments on. The content of these sites is not controlled by the McCain campaign and may contain offensive material. Please use your discretion in visiting these sites.
Does the offensive material happen to be – Facts? Progressive points of views? Intelligent ideas?
This page concludes with daily Talking Points that the McCain campaign would like you to pass along.
For your information the talking points from yesterday (and today) were:
The Issue: Jobs for America
John McCain has a comprehensive economic plan that will create millions of good American jobs, ensure our nation’s energy security, get the government’s budget and spending practices in order, and bring relief to American consumers. Click to learn how the McCain Economic Plan will help bring reform, prosperity and peace to America
The Issue: Partisanship
There are serious issues at stake in this election, and serious differences between the candidates. And we will argue about them, as we should. But it should remain an argument among friends; each of us struggling to hear our conscience, and heed its demands; each of us, despite our differences, united in our great cause, and respectful of the goodness in each other.
These talking points are complete and utter nonsense. They aren’t even worth arguing as there are absolutely no facts to support them. What I did like was the last part of the partisanship section– that we must be ‘respectful of the goodness in each other.’
Respectful. That’s a laugh. And so is the John McCain campaign website.
Do I get my awards points?
